NCAA Football Jerseys Retired to Honor Great Players, Part 1
It is rare indeed for NCAA Football Jerseys to be retired, but some NCAA schools have elected to do so in honor of the best to play the game.
The first to receive this special treatment was Illinois running back, Number 77, Harold Grange. In 1925, the University of Illinois retired Grange’s jersey after his final game.
